“Players from both our mens and womens sides have come together to donate a days salary to charity this weekend,” a club statement said.“Every year since our move to Emirates Stadium [in 2006] the manager and mens first team have donated a days wages over the Christmas period and this year the womens team will join this fantastic tradition.“As a club, we have donated Saturdays match against Huddersfield Town to The Arsenal Foundation, which means that all the funds raised will go towards supporting deserving projects and beneficiaries in the local community and worldwide with Save the Children.” A bucket collection will also be doing the rounds in north London for supporters to chip in.“This year The Arsenal Foundation and Save the Children have launched the ambitious Coaching for Life programme, which is initially being piloted in Indonesia and Jordan,” a club statement added. “Working as one team, the two organisations are combing expertise to help improve the mental wellbeing of children affected by conflict.”Since 2011, Arsenal say 7m has been raised for various charities. It is a positive story for the Gunners considering a number of first team players, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette, were filmed allegedly inhaling ‘hippy crack’.The club have since explained those involved will be “reminded of their responsibilities.”Visit arsenal.com/donate to help the Arsenal Foundation.

That 250k would be sitting in all the clubs' bank accounts anyway! It's not as if the clubs had set aside that money to be used as charitable donations either. If clubs want to do more for other worthy causes such as food banks, grass roots football etc, then they have plenty of money to do that anyway.
